Purim was definitely experienced in its fullest glory this year @ Aliya. The tone was set first night when Aliya filled up for 2 consecutive Megillah. A lavish buffet was served after the first reading and Mordechai Freidman played some great music. A group of Aliya members then took a ride in a limousine to the 5 towns to visit Jewish homes and raise needed funds for Aliya.
Not expecting our members to rise at the crack of dawn on Purim morning we began our Purim day activities at 3pm. First there was a limo ride around Crown Heights with blaring music for our members to to liven up the steerts and bring Purim joy to all. Last night, Aliya's new JLI course really took off. The evening began with a
delicious dinner prepared by our very own Shlomo Cohen, who is presently in
Culinary School. Then the first class of "Amazing Facts" was given, and was
enjoyed and participated in by all who attended. This new course, currently
being given by Rabbi Mendy Baitz, is a major addition to our educational arm.
